His family took a trip to California for a long weekend before the virus got bad to visit his wife's side of the family and never returned. This was to give him a break from everyone and give him some alone time. Suffering from guilt and grief he plans to end his life after several weeks into the apocalypse. Great Addition to The Five Roads to Texas Series

Reviewed: 10-18-18 For Which We Stand: Ian's Road (A Five Roads to Texas Novel) written by Joseph Hansen a member of Phalanx Press. The Narration is done by Andrew B. Wehrlen. This is technically the third book in the Five Roads to Texas Universe. After the First group collaboration, it appears each author is taking a character and developing a separate storyline in this amazing new Zom-Poc Universe they have created. This audiobook follows Ian and his crew as they wisely escape El Paso and head west. This is a fun New World that the members of Phalanx Press have created. The zombie-like creatures and humans provide some excellent material for world building adventures that really holds the listener's attention. The narration by Mr. Wehrlen is once again excellent. He provides an outstanding performance giving each character their own unique voice and creating the perfect amount of dramatic tension throughout the performance. The production value is of the highest qua...

Great Story in this new Shared World!

After the Roads: A Five Roads to Texas Novel written by Brian Parker and narrated by Andrew B. Wehrlen. I This is a sequel of sorts but this time we only have one of the original five authors from the first books taking their character off into a new storyline. After the Roads follows Sidney Bannister from the first book. The Safe Zone in Texas holds four million refugees. Fort Bliss is running low on food and supplies near the base to scavenge. Sidney wants to leave before a disaster happens and before her baby is born. The narration is provided by Andrew B. Wehrlen. Mr. Wehrlen does an excellent job with this varied cast of characters once again. Each character has a unique voice and this makes for a really great listening experience. The production quality of this audiobook is also the highest quality. I heard no problems during the entire performance. There were not any detectable flaws that I was able to hear during the entire performance such as loops, breaks, or buzzing durin...

Excellent New Take on the Zom Poc Genre

Image
Five Roads to Texas by W.J. Lundy, Brian Parker, Rich Baker, Joseph Hansen, Allen Gamboa and narrated by Andrew B. Wehrlen is just an excellent new take on the Zom-Poc Genre. There are times when a collaboration of five authors can be a real mess to listen be this is not one of them. With W.J. Lundy leading the pack you know you are in for some good zombie fun and there is a great storyline carried through each set of characters. This is one of my top five audiobooks of the year so far. The highlights are something bad happens in Africa. Stupid people get samples and bring them back to the USA. Military tries to keep it covered up and contained from the citizens. Bad things happen. The authors each have created some really great and memorable characters that really make this collaboration work and make it enjoyable. The narration by Andrew Wehrlen is as always fantastic. He does great work with such a large and diverse cast. Each person gets their own unique voice and they all really ...

No Man's Land by Jacqueline Druga

Image
No Man's Land by Jacqueline Druga was a unique take on the popular Zombie Story. The word zombie is never used they were called V's for being Virally Animated. Calvin the Father of newborn Edward is the most ill-equipped mentally and physically character written into a post-apocalyptic story that is not killed in the first few chapters. He is lucky to find a young 12-year-old girl named Hannah on his journey to a Sanctuary City. If you are looking for a different take on or are a fan of the genre this one is for you. I had a really hard time getting into this audiobook at first I am a fanboy of the author, to be honest, and I knew she would not build this world without a reason that there would be a payoff because she is awesome like that in her world building even in her one-off books. This held my attention once I got invested in the story and characters. The events in the world were really what kept my attention more than the people at times. The narration is by Andrew B. ...
